Assertive Behavior
Earlier, we talked about the four main types of behavior: aggressive, passive aggressive, passive, and assertive.
Assertive behavior is the most healthy and respectful manner of communicating. When someone is assertive, they respect the rights of both themselves and others. When someone is assertive, they express their feelings directly. They use a non-threatening and non-aggressive manner.
Aggressive behavior is based on a person’s own desires. Assertive behavior is based on balance. It asks for your desires while considering the needs and desires of others.
When you act assertively, you act fairly. You act with empathy. You treat others with respect. As a result, people will see you as someone they want to work and be with.
