Broaden Your Perspective
Basic facts about conflict:

Conflict happens when two (or more) people have different needs. Part of resolving conflict is respecting each person’s needs and values. Just as we are unique and special, so are other people. We all have distinctive viewpoints that may be equally valid from where we stand. Broadening our perspective means changing the thoughts of our mind that say "For me to be right, others must be wrong.”

Consider how the problem that you are facing right now affects things long-term. You might find that in the “grand scheme of things” what you are dealing with right now isn’t really that big of a deal. Looking at the long-term helps us put things into perspective.

Consider your need or problem in light of the overall needs of your family, your organization, or society. Your actions will affect those around you. Consider what needs this larger unit has in order to function effectively.
