Anger versus Aggression
Typically, anger displays itself:
- in negative thinking
- verbally (e.g. yelling, cursing, sarcasm, or arguing)
- physically (e.g. clenching a fist, raising a hand, or throwing something)
Aggression is physical. The result of aggression is harm to someone else. Examples include punching, shoving, hitting, or using a weapon against another person.
Research shows that 90% of the time, people were angry before doing something aggressive.
On the flip side, only about 10% of people turn their anger into an act of aggression.
