Why Don't We Reach Out
#1 The desire for independence.
Our culture recognizes and applauds those who stand on their own to accomplish great things. This is mostly a myth. Most men and women who have accomplished great things acknowledge that they couldn't have done it without help and support.
This may be especially challenging during this phase of your life. It may be your first time on your own. You may feel hesitant to reach out to your parents or people who have supported you in the past. If you don't want to reach out to them, it's important to find someone else to support you during this stressful time of change. Also, remember, even though you are on your own, the people who have supported you in the past are still there for you.
